Big Sister Program

is an empowerment program that focuses on self-development for young ladies ages 13-19.

Four Stages

Our program consists of four stages to develop each girl into a blossoming butterfly.

EGG

This is the stage where the life cycle of the “Butterfly” begins. For Developing Butterflies, this is where our journey of Self-development begins: recognizing our worth, being motivated and determined to be who we are destined to be. We first have to work on self, and that comes from looking inside-out. Being in an egg we focus on ourselves

CATERPILLAR

This is the stage when the caterpillar eats! The more they eat, the more they grow. In this stage, this is when Developing Butterflies set Personal, Academic, and Career goals. By setting goals, we are helping our little sisters envision a bigger picture, think outside the box, and put action toward something.

CHRYSALIS

After the caterpillar has eaten and reached its full size, they go into Chrysalis. This is where the “Metamorphosis,” or change begins. During this stage, Developing Butterflies takes the little sisters' goals and help them apply and prepare them for the next change.

BUTTERFLY

At this stage, the caterpillar has completed its change and is now ready to emerge into the Beautiful, Colorful, and Graceful Butterfly it was created to be. With our 12-month program comes support, empowerment, and encouragement where our little sisters are ready to “Be Bold, Spread Their Wings and Fly High” to be the Beautiful, Colorful, and Graceful Butterfly they are meant to be.

Once our little sisters complete their 12-month program, they are encouraged to come back for further development as a big sister to the next little sisters that come in.
